Three-headed Vishnu, steatite, c. 750-825, India. At the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.In this representation Vishnu has two extra heads, of a lion and of a boar. This version was popular in Kashmir between the 8th and 10th centuries. The tripartite crown and muscular upper body are characteristics of Kashmiri sculpture.
